Percy Jackson-Book VS. the Movie

Have you read the Lightning Thief book by Rick Riordan? How about seen the movie? Well, if you've read the book, you would probably know its very different from the movie. First of all, what happened to Ares and Clarisse?!?!? Did they just dissolve in the middle of nowhere!?!?!? What about the whole storyline!?!?!? In the book, they're traveling to Hades lair in search of the lightning bolt, but in the movie, they're going to collect the pearls!?!?!? We liked the movie, but it would've been better if it followed the book more!!!!!!! We would like to hear what everybody else thought. There are many changes from the book to the movie, and it changed a lot of the story. What did we think? Comment about your thoughts!

I think the book is better than the movie because some little kids will be scared of the sound affects in the movie.

The movie looks awesome but I havent seen it yet.Is it good? I've read the book, which was one of the best books I have ever read.
I read on the computer that Rick Riordan (the author of the series) has no control over the movie so the movie makers can make it how they feel like it. That is why some things were changed.

Pichu9000 and kangaroo9, I was supposed to do "Percy Jackson-book VS.
the movie". I think the movie was a lot different than the movie because Annabeth has blond hair and ares wasn't in the movie either and that was a big part of the book because Percy and ares have a fight. Also Percy's mom takes Percy to the beach, but in the movie she doesn't. Luke does steal the bolt but, he doesn't hide it in the shield ares takes it away and puts it in the backpack he gives percy and luke steals Hades Helm too. I agree with alexi I loved the movie.

i am reading the book right now and i really think there is a lot of things the director of the movie could have added (for example Grover talking with the poodle). The movie stinks compared to the book.

The movie totally ruined the book!! Ares and Clarrise are important characters and they left out important details that will make it hard to make a sequal! Then they left out the main theme. the whole point of the books is that there are these demigods who feel abandoned by their parents.

Sorry dribble girl but I disagree with you. I thought the book was better then the movie. What's the point of a movie based on a book if it has almost nothing to do with the book!

The movie was amazing slightly better than the book I'd say. I'm still kinda confused why the Lightning Blade was in the shield instead of the backpack. I like the idea of the shield better though, because Percy wouldn't think of looking in the shield. But also I have to point out the Lotus Casino in the movie people ate a flower and stayed the forever I mean, seriously? LOL

They replaced the Chimera scene with the Parthenon in Nashville! The Chimera part was the best part of the book!!11111 And how could they forget the fight with Ares at the end of the book!!!!1!1 What about the scorpion and Luke. Well, I have to admit that the part when Luke fought Percy for the lightning bolt was better than the scorpion part in the book. I am saying too much about the movie for people who haven't seen the movie. I should stop now...

You will probably love the movie if you haven't read the book. My friend loved it, but she didn't read the book. On the other hand my friend who did read the book really didn't like the movie. Plus the movie and book are very different,so not many people like it like that.

Well i liked the book but, i did not like how chiron just showed Percy his cabin and told him he was Poseidon's son and in the book he was fighting Luke i believe and a voice in his head said go to the water Percy but i loved both i absolutely LOVED THE SERIES.

People always say the book is better than the movie but this time I think the movie is better.

They didn't include Clarisse and/or Ares in the movie because they aren't important characters to the story. They had them go searching for the pearls in the movie to add more adventure.
